Last night MTV aired an episode of their True Life series and show cased two teens with food allergies. Did you see the show? What are your thoughts on how they portrayed the food allergic?

How NOT To Spend Father's Day
Both boys decided on what they wanted to with Dad on Father's Day. This mostly included fishing and grilling meat. I was fine with whatever they chose.
A few hours into fishing I got the call. You know the call. The call that makes your heart skip a beat. "He's fine, but meet me at the hospital". I couldn't imagine what happened. They only took safe snacks. Did he have an allergic reaction to the worms? The fish? No, it wasn't an allergic reaction at all. He walked into the path of a lure and got the hook stuck in his leg. Dad told him to "Sit there and don't move", but he moved.

He was less than happy. And even more unhappy that I was taking his photo.
Don't look if you're easily grossed out

Yea, that's not good. It didn't hurt him while it was in there. The four hour wait to get it removed hurt more than removing it. He lost patience while waiting and the only thing on TV was completely inappropriate cartoons on Cartoon Network.
He's fine now. They got it out and he's on antibiotics "just in case". He's back to his normal active self. I'm *hoping* this is it for the summer. A chest x-ray because he fell from the school play yard, the Older Boy getting his hand x-rayed because he was kicked in soccer, and now this. Consider us good on the boo-boo's for the summer please.

Product Review: Enjoy Life
The wonderful people at Enjoy Life Foods recently sent us their new Semi Sweet Chocolate Chunks and Double Chocolate Crunch Granola at no charge for us to review.
At this point the Double Chocolate Crunch Granola is G.O.N.E. To say that my son liked it would be an understatement. I tasted it and liked it too. It has a nice chocolatey flavor and the mini chocolate chips are an added bonus.
I haven't actually baked with the Chocolate Chunks, but the kids love those too. They eat them right out of the bag. They are super tasty just like the Semi Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips.
The ingredients for the granola can be found here and the ingredients for the Chocolate Chunks can be found here.
All Enjoy Life Foods are gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, tree-nut free, soy free, egg free and casein-free foods. They are also made in a gluten and nut free facility. And THAT'S another reason to love Enjoy Life.
The household of Chupieandjsmama give these two new products two big thumbs up.

So what HAVE we been up to?
Schools out for summer! But getting here has been a long road. The road has been full of fun stuff, but it's been tiring and time consuming. So here it is in pictures:
Older Boy had a field trip on the Good Time III. It was rainy and cool that day but the kids had fun anyway. I didn't get sea sick so all went well.

The Little Man's class went to Hale Farm and village for a field trip. No that's not a real gun.

We road Thomas the Tank Engine for the 7th year in a row. And although Older Boy has outgrown the magic, the Little Man was all into it.

Two Memorial Day Parades. One was fun and the other was more in line with what Memorial Day truly is.

The final spring soccer game and the regional Pinewood Derby race (he came in 4th in the region which is pretty outstanding).

Both boys have been playing baseball (no pictures of that...yet). And we've been mulching, and planting and working ourselves to death outside (no one wants to see pictures of that).
Swim team starts next week but other than that (and baseball) I'm hoping that things will quiet down around here. It's been too hectic and tiring. Mama needs a summer break too.

Summer Break Is About To Begin
I've been absent much the last few weeks. It's because of all the end of the year activities at the boys school. But today is the last day of school (and it's a half day). That means that I'll have a second grader and a fourth grader in my house. How did they get so big so fast? Wasn't it yesterday that they were in pre-school? It seems like it anyway. I'll be back with a recap of what has been going on lately. We've been busy and I've got some photos to share.
Happy Summer Break!
