Heart Breaking

I can't bring myself to stop at a BP Gas Station. I just can't. Someone on Facebook said "But you are only hurting the local owners...". I know but I just can't...

But if you don't want to boycott BP Gas Stations (and it's not just BP, you'll have to do a google search to see what other stations use BP Oil), there are things you can do to help.

Donate to the Gulf Coast Fund

If you live in the area, find volunteer opportunities on The Spill Site

Alabama residents are asked to contact the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program at 251-431-6409;

Or contact the Mobile Baykeeper at 251- 433-4229 to volunteer anywhere along the Gulf Coast;

Save Our Seabirds is a Florida bird rescue group that is looking for volunteers as its response team prepares to help oiled wildlife. To help, call 941-388-3010;

Don't forget to do your homework before donating. You want to make sure that you and your money are doing the most good.

Buy a bottle of Dawn Dish Detergent. 1 bottle = $1 dollar to save wild life

Don't forget that people died in this tragedy. Pray for them and their families.

Stop using so much fuel. Walk, ride a bike or buy a hybrid.

Turn up your air conditioner (or open windows instead) and turn down your heat in the winter.

Decrease the other products that you use that are made from petrolium

What other suggestions do you have? What else can we the people do about the spill?

Oh yes, the local Fox network was doing a story of, "Please don't stop going to BP." I will keep my rant to myself, but I'm with you. That reminded me to find out who else is supplied by BP oil. The newscast the other day stated 60% of the oil is from BP. (In the US.) Must go see. I think that they mentioned Marathon.

Oh. So sad all the way around. So many lives and livelihoods have been forever changed.
