An Allergy Parents Nightmare
This POST made me cry and is the reason I'm always scared sending my food allergy child to school. Something so innocent as a piece of candy given without malice can be deadly.

Wow, all I can do is shake my head. I feel for that Mother! Your children should be able to trust the adults that are responsible for their well being. Trust is sooo key with food allergies! My daughter's teacher is the absolute sweetest woman on Earth but she is one of those that just don't get "IT"!!!! And it scares the crap out of me each and every day! My daughter turned 7 today and she is so beautiful and so innocent and It just hurts my insides down to the core knowinbg that she may possibly feel left out or different because of her allergies. Her teacher is so ignorant about her allergies and I have had multiple meetings and now she is the extreme and won't let her have something that she CLEARLY CAN have! I know better to be safe then sorry but for God's sake woman even my child can read the label and know she can have it! I know I am all over with this but I am quite emotional with the whole thing that she turned frreakin "7"! Anyway, i look forward to your blog, you're awesome! Hope all feel better. I think I need to take my little one back and get her ears rechecked. Poop!

It's hard to believe something as innocent as a single starburst could cause this. Good grief.

Somehow, I'm sure it would be best to leave tough girl in this class because there's no way that teacher would ever make a mistake like that again, as long as she knows what happened when she gave her that little piece of deadly candy.
