Just A Whole Mess O' Stuff
I guess I didn't really do a "post" this weekend. I posted some pictures and some very important contest news, but no updates on my "daily happenings". I started this blog as a way to journal what's going on in "our family life", but sometimes life gets so busy, I don't really have time to write it down. Or sometimes things we do just aren't really worth writing down. I mean really, in 20 years from now am I going to care that on Saturday June 30, 2007 I went to Old Navy to return a belt? Probably not.
Older Boy did have his last T ball game on Saturday. It was cute and fun, and the Older Boy really loved playing T Ball. After the game the kids were supposed to get little trophies, but our coach forgot to pick them up (or at least I think that's what he mumbled to his wife when she shot him a look as the other team gathered for their "ceremony"). That was actually fitting. Our coach was against practices, went on vacation for 2 of the 7 games planned to be played, was too busy to come to the game another week and sent his wife in his place, cancelled another game due to the Memorial Day holiday (and doesn't want to do a make up), and now forgot the trophies. That sort of "sealed the deal" for me and hubby had to talk me off the ledge. I kind of went into Mama Bear mode and was going to give him a piece of my mind, but hubby reminded me that a). It's only T-ball b). You never know when you are going to run into these people again and you don't want to burn any bridges and c). It's not like he'd care anyway, so I'd just end up looking like a crazy lady (and d). his wife may be a doctor, but I think she could kick my but*). So that ends our first season of organized sports. Soccer starts in mid-August.... Hope we don't get that same guy as our coach.
After T Ball it was time to run errands since hubby took the kids home and I could do all my things by myself. I tried to find the Little Mans birthday present, but no one around us had it. I did end up finding the shovel and pails I want to hand out to the kids who attend the party. They had them on sale at Babies R Us for .78 each. Couldn't beat that price! So after a dentist appointment and several other stops I headed home and picked up the Older Boy and we ended up at Toys R Us and we got the Little Man this: River Run Water Park (we didn't get the umbrella and we didn't pay that price, but this was the only picture I could find of it).
We had also ordered him this a few months ago: Personalized Spiderman Kideo. I emailed them his picture and they put his face on Spiderman in the video. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. The Older Boy got Arthur for his 3rd birthday and this is even funnier.
Yesterday was a relaxing day at home. We went to church, which went pretty well until after communion. The Little Man lost it after that and I had to take him in the parking lot where he preceded to throw a major tantrum of screaming, flailing, and hitting. Of course I forgot my diaper bag with my car keys so I had to wait for hubby and Older Boy to come out after mass was completely over before I could strap him in his car seat to contain him. That was a good time and not at all embarrassing getting beaten up by your child in front of your church on a busy roadway.
I made THESE last night for dinner along with some chicken and beef kabobs on the grill and can I just say YUM! Thank you Barb!!
This week we are looking forward to more grilling out, fireworks and finally the Little Mans birthday party. I can't believe my baby is going to be three.
Oh, and I had a nice surprise yesterday. Michelle at Big Blueberry Eyes gave me an award:

That was just too sweet of her. I love Michelle's blog. It's about her gorgeous little girl Kayla and her hubby Joe and their life together. Michelle writes beautifully and from the heart. If you haven't checked it out yet, you really should.
Now to pass on the award to 5 other bloggers:
Sue - Living My Dream
Sue is a fellow food allergy mom but not only does she help "talk me down from the ledge" on days I get frustrated with food allergies, but I've learned so much from her about infertility and about raising girls (which is totally foreign to me).
Kim-Kim's Candor - Kim is funny, and organized and I feel like I know her even though we've never met. She gives me great book selections and writes about their life as a military family and what they go through when her husband is off defending our country.
Laura-Organizing Junkie - When I grow up I want to be Laura. She is the queen of organization and her menu plan Monday has added so many yummy recipes to our lives. My hubby and children are very thankful. Laura gives me tips on how to hold it all together.
Barbara - Stray Thoughts - The title of Barbara's blog is accurate. Her blog is about her life, her family, her religion. It's written with love and faith. It's a joy to read.
Jessica - Raising Joey - I love reading Jessica's blog about Joey. Joey has an extra chromosome and reading "raising Joey" has really raised my awareness about Down Syndrome. He's cute as heck and I just love all of the pictures of Joey.
There you have it. A whole mess o' stuff.

Sounds like you guys had a busy weekend! And thank you for the award!!
That coach would have irritated me too! If you don't care so much then why bother even coaching?! How frustrating!
I wish we had a BRU near us - that was a great deal you found on the shovel/pails! And that water toy looks so fun!
You're welcome for the award - you deserve it!
HI, i just forwarded you blog site to the T-ball coach. keep up the good work, the Blog looks great!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Congratulations on your award. You deserve and I love your blog.
Angel ():) ( Angel Mama )
I sure hope you get a better coach next time!! That Spiderman video is a hoot!
Thank you so much for the award, but especially for your sweet words! :-)
Barbara H. @ Stray Thoughts
I think I might have wanted to say a thing or two to that coach, too...
But congratulations on the award! :D
Major laughing about not being embarassed by his temper tantrum. :) I can't believe that coach. I'm impressed hubby talked you down. Not easy to keep things in like that. Love the water slide thing - we have the water table and they love it.
I hear you on the 3 thing. Scary isn't it? I had totally forgotten that I wanted to get Kayla the Dora video. How long did it take? I may be out of luck for her b-day in 5 weeks.
Thanks for the award. I will get to that hopefully later today. Michelle tagged me too, so I'll do them together. Just when I'm trying to get caught up, I have to pack to leave again on Friday for NC. :)
Oh thank you so much for the love! I love knowing I can be a positive influence on others. Now I only wish I could do the same with my kids but unfortunately organizing is way down on their list of priorities...lol.
Hugs,
Laura
I don't know why some of these guys even take on the job of coaching if they don't have the time for it or inclination for it! I don't care if it's "only" t-ball for little kids, it's still important to the kids!! Grrrrrr! lol Congratulations on the Rockin' Blogger award, very much deserved:-) I couldn't pick just 5 so I gave it to everyone! lol In my opinion we ALL rock! hehe!! xox
